This collection of inspiring and uplifting talks documents an extraordinary series of public addresses Abdul-Baha gave on his historic trip to the West in the early 20th century. Despite advanced age and poor health, he set out from Palestine in 1911 on a momentous journey to Europe and North America to share the teachings and vision of the Baha'i Faith with the people of the West.
This audiobook is the new translation newly revised by a Committee at the Bahai World Centre. Some Answered Questions includes a wide range of questions and answers compiled from a series of talks given by Abdul-Baha. They constitute a rich source of philosophical and spiritual wisdom with answers that often bypass conundrums or controversies which have limited debate for many centuries.
This audiobook is the most recent edition of the general prayer book published by the US Baha'i Publishing Trust. This book contains prayers revealed by Baha'u'llah, the Bab, and 'Abdu'l-Baha.
Baha'u'llah is the Prophet Founder of the Baha'i Faith, which is the newest of the world's independent religions. Baha'is view the world's major religions as a part of a single, progressive process through which God reveals His will to humanity. Baha'u'llah (1817-1892) is recognized as the most recent in a line of Divine Messengers that includes Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Zoroaster, Christ, and Muhammad.
God Speaks Again is an introduction to the Bahai Faith and a must-read for those who are on the spiritual path seeking independent investigation of truth, as well as those who would like to expand their knowledge of the Bahai Faith, including its history and principles.
This Faith believes that religions come from the same source and are, in essence, successive chapters of one religion from God. This book tells the story of this thoroughly inclusive religion and describes how the history and teachings of the Bahai Faith center around the inspiring person of its Prophet and Founder (1817-1892), whom believers around the world regard as the Messenger of God for this day.
An inspiring and dramatically paced introduction to the prophet and founder of the Bahai Faith, This book presents in a clear narrative style the life of the prophet from his birth into a wealthy and noble family, through his transforming spiritual experience while incarcerated in the infamous subterranean dungeon, the Black Pit of Tehran, followed by decades of harsh and increasingly remote exile ending with incarceration in the prison city of Acre, Palestine (now Israel).
"Growing up as an African American child in the 1960s in Greenville, South Carolina, Rick Abercrombie has seen it all. He has experienced racial prejudice all his life. He goes through the motions of attending school, but his heart isn't in it. He carries a gun for protection, and he is not afraid to use it. Then he is invited to a Baha'u'llah fireside, and his life changes. After hearing the message of Baha'u'llah and the Teachings on racial equality, social justice, and progressive Revelation, Rick experiences a spiritual awakening and resolves to turn his life around.
Champions of Oneness
This audiobook is a true look at racism in the United States and efforts to overcome this blight on its history. Taking as its focus the years 1898 to 1921, Champions of Oneness, Louis Gregory and His Shining Circle, portrays the lives of a handful of brilliant pioneers of race amity in the United States (and internationally) who gave everything they could to promote the principle of the oneness of humanity. The thread common among each of their lives was the Bahai Faith. Many of them had the fortune of meeting Abdul-Baha, son of the Prophet Founder of the Bahai Faith.
The Hidden Words
A collection of lyrical, gem-like verses of scripture that convey timeless spiritual wisdom "clothed in the garment of brevity," The Hidden Words is one of the most important and cherished scriptural works of the Baha'i Faith. Revealed by Baha'u'llah, the founder of the religion, the verses are a perfect guidebook to walking a spiritual path and drawing closer to God. They address themes such as turning to God, humility, detachment, and love, to name but a few. These verses are among Baha'u'llah's earliest and best known works, having been translated into more than seventy languages and read by millions worldwide.
Published especially for the occasion of the centenary of the passing of Adul-Baha, Pearls of Bounty is a new collection of prayers, Tablets, and talks of the Master translated into English and prepared for publication over the years in the course of the work at the Bahai World Centre. This beautiful limited-edition book contains nineteen prayers, most of which were revealed for or about children; twenty-eight Tablets, including the historic Tablets to The Hague; and twelve table talks given by Abdul-Baha in Akka on a wide range of subjects. Most of the selections included here appear in print for the first time.
Roy Wilhelm is described by his biographers within these pages as quiet and gentle, but iron-willed. Relative to some of his contemporaries in the early Bahai community of North America, his is a life perhaps less explored and examined so far by historians. This may be in part because many of the services he rendered were of a behind-the-scenes or administrative nature. What becomes abundantly clear when reading about the life of this brilliant and steadfast individual, however, is that he earned the unwavering trust of both Abdul-Baha and Shoghi Effendi for his tireless and selfless devotion to the Cause.
A compilation of Messages of the Universal House of Justice.
When the Moon Set Over Haifa
On November 28, 1921, the head of the Bahai Faith, Abdul-Baha passed away. Abdul-Baha was more than the leader of their religion. Shoghi Effendi wrote that Abdul-Baha was: the Moon of the Central Orb of this most holy Dispensation (Shoghi Effendi, The World Order, p. 134). The night of the ascension of Abdul-Baha was a night of the waning moon, which illustrates the profound darkness that was felt by those who were present at the time of the passing of Abdul-Baha. The darkness would be only temporary, for the passing of Abdul-Baha marked the dramatic opening of the Formative Age, a period in the history of humanity that will witness the unfoldment of a religious cycle that will last half a million years (Shoghi Effendi, The World Order, pp. 101 to 102).
